SAIC is seeking a On-Site Office Manager on the OMES II contract in support of the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The position is located at a vendor site in Phoenix, AZ.  

JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation program that acquires and distributes global environmental data primarily from multiple polar-orbiting satellites. The program plays a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans and coasts, and the space environment, which support the Nation’s economy and protect lives and property.

The JPSS Flight Project is responsible for the management of the Suomi National Polar Project (S-NPP) technical support, and post launch support. 

The Onsite Manager shall:

  • Provide management of:
    • The office needs: IT, office products, office space, organization and maintenance
    • Personnel; incoming/periodic and permanent
  • Interface with the contractor to support the needs of the project:
    • Track hardware development
    • Align personnel support working with the I&T leads for I&T activities
    • Support facility readiness
    • Look ahead to assess and align personnel support
    • Working with the I&T leads to cover I&T activities
      • Coordinate the SMA team activities to cover on-the-floor activities
  • Process and prepare for incoming personnel
  • Badging
  • Office space
  • IT and office product needs
  • Provide status to Observatory management on ongoing work and plan for anticipated work, possible personnel, hardware, and facility issues/conflicts
  • Coordinate with instrument vendor onsite to support instrument operations

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more experience.
  • Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 

 

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with office management is desired.
