Description
The National Security Customer Group of SAIC is seeking a Functional Lead to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6).
The successful candidate will lead the network services team to maintain, configure, and reliably operate network servers, server virtualization systems, laptops, desktops, VDI, and supporting software/hardware.
Daily responsibilities may include:

Maintaining, configuring, and reliably operating network servers, server virtualization systems, laptops, desktops, VDI, and supporting software/hardware.

Performing server administration tasks to include user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.

Building, testing, and maintaining new servers as needed.

Performing application administration tasks to include evaluating, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting operating systems and other software applications.

Performing patch management activities to maintain security and upgrade software to newer versions as needed.

Monitoring server and datacenter performance using a variety of enterprise monitoring tools, review anomalies, resource/capacity utilization, database performance, bulletins, event logs, and alerts as they may apply to the enterprise server infrastructure. Install and maintain the system monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.

Creating troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.

Interacting with government service owners, network technicians, customers, service desk, etc. to resolve issues or meet new requirements.

Implementing, managing, and monitoring security controls using industry best practices, and DOD policy and standards.

Conducting and participating in network security audits.

Coordinating and implementing a routine server maintenance plan.

Developing and implementing server backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.

Responding to internal/external requests regarding IT systems/services expansion.

Maintaining up-to-date, accurate documentation of the enterprise server infrastructure. Keep track of the inventory and location of systems.

Developing and maintaining a Capacity Management Plan.

Ensuring availability of 24/7 systems support both on-site during normal work hours and on-call during off-hours.
This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours. However, employee may be required to provide after-hours and weekend support during planned or emergency events.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience.
- IAT Level II certifications (Security+, CECCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)
- Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility in either Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR Operating System (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
- Experience researching and writing documentation and examples for technical personnel
- Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
- Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- ITIL Foundations (v3 or higher) certification
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
