SAIC is seeking a skilled Electro Mechanical Drafter to support a fast-paced work environment within the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division in Middleton, RI. You will join a skilled team of engineers and technicians to collaboratively work to capture and document design details of new and legacy systems and generate CAD drawings to support the alteration, modernization and design of electromechanical test and measurement systems, control systems, industrial piping and plumbing systems, and electrical and electronic measurement and test systems.  

This opportunity allows for excellent learning opportunities in a diverse test and evaluation facility, along with future growth.

Work Schedules: Monday-Friday 0730-0430.

More on the role: Our team is integral in developing present and future leading edge USN weapons systems testing capabilities. We seek broad skillsets, well-developed work habits, and an eagerness and enthusiasm for solving challenges.  The ideal candidate has experience and is able to develop both mechanical and electrical CAD drawings, but a skilled practitioner with experience in only one area will also be considered for this role.

Job Duties:

• You will use software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks to document mechanical items including boilers, vessels, piping and valve configurations, mechanical brackets and facility layouts.
• You will use good geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing practices (GD&T) in the development of your drawings.
• You will use software such as OrCAD, Visio, AutoCAD to document electrical configurations of facility infrastructure wiring, routing, and cabinet electrical wiring.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma/GED and four (4) years or more experience.
• 4+ years drafting experience.

Desired:

• Formal GD&T training.
• 1+ years experience with industrial plant systems, piping, etc.
• SECRET Security Clearance preferred.
