If you are up to the challenge, SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is seeking an energetic Agile Systems Engineer with a strong desire to enhance space resiliency.  The Agile Systems Engineer will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) support to the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) using a tailored Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), offering unparalleled insight into an emerging mission area and opportunities to secure our nation’s space enterprise.

SAIC has a funded need for an Agile Systems Engineer to fill a key position supporting a Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer charged will delivering solutions across a range of rapidly expanding and complex space and ground system initiatives.

The Agile Systems Engineer will be a member of a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that directly support the Government in defining and managing software development and sustainment at the Portfolio and Large Solution Levels. This position will serve on-site with the Government customer located in Chantilly, VA.

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Work closely with technical and management personnel to ensure Agile software development principles and processes are commonly understood and effectively implemented
  • Provide Agile software development assistance, feedback and advice to Government and contractor teams
  • Guide the Government team and all other stakeholders in Program Increment (PI) Planning and the establishment and execution of a continuous development, integration, and delivery pipeline
  • Develop briefings and documentation material for client engagements and products
  • Facilitate development and assessment of Agile-related and software development products, including acquisition and management documentation and guidance
  • Assist the client in performing day-to-day technical and non-technical program execution activities 
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to current and future Agile software development processes and tools
  • Communicate strategies, plans, summaries, successes, concerns, issues, and lessons learned with leadership 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and 9 years of experience OR Masters And 7 years of experience  
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Polygraph
  • Industry-recognized Agile certification (any level)
  • Experience facilitating PI Planning events, monitoring PI and Sprint performance, and System Demos
  • Experience as a scrum master, product owner, or release train engineer for software development programs/projects
  • Knowledgeable of Agile software development practices
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and verbal/written communication skills, with ability to convey information across multiple customer and corporate audiences
