Job Description:
- Performs system safety analyses of hardware and software in a variety of systems for payloads/experiments; develops safety data, hazard reports, and other safety documentation, as needed.
- Utilizes technical and safety review and documentation analysis techniques to include fault tree analyses, failure modes and hazardous effects analyses, and other techniques as required.
- Duties include: preparing and/or updating safety assessment/hazard reports and risk assessment reports. Preparing safety assessment/hazard reports, and technical data packages and presentation materials for safety review boards. Conduct or review safety assessments of new, updated, and/or modified hardware and software, waivers, and exemption requests.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills:
- 15+ years related experience
- NASA human spaceflight system safety review process experience
- Experience with direct participation in conducting and documenting human spaceflight system safety reviews
- Familiarity with the NASA organization and human spaceflight programs
- An understanding of system safety hazards analysis process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop excellent working relationships with customers, peers, and management
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite of Tools to prepare reports, presentations, and charts
- Knowledge and use of personal computer with typical business software
Required Education: BS degree in Engineering or related Science/Technical field (Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred)
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain and retain Public Trust security clearance.
