Description
SAIC is pursuing space system development opportunities across a broad spectrum of customers and domains. SAIC is seeking a motivated, innovative, career- and customer-oriented leader to fill a Space Systems Integration Manager role. In this role you will establish a manufacturing team and capability to assemble and test small satellites (“cube sats” and “small sats”) for Low Earth Orbits (LEO) and beyond.
This position is located in Charleston, SC and requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance.
This leader will shape the culture and processes necessary for our team to pursue and execute agile, go-fast production capabilities that enable futuristic improvements for U.S. space based applications. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness with the ability to apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts, as well as streamlined team leadership and program management processes necessary to deliver integrated space systems on go-fast contracts for various customers.
You will be responsible for the following:
Efforts include requirements definition, process development, standards setting, staffing, inventory management, production management, key metrics development, throughput optimization, and production capabilities expansion. This role may be responsible for several production lines or contract deliverables to multiple customers. You will hire and integrate a production team that may include direct staff, temporary staff, subcontractors or suppliers, and task or project leads; and may require balancing complex workflows. This leader provides guidance, direction, and mentoring to the internal cross-functional team and develop complex processes, procedures, techniques, or tools for the program and the account. Key skills may include electronics integration and test, experience working in a cleanroom environment, configuration and inventory management, program management, systems engineering, systems integration and test experience, and/or experience with earned value management and program planning.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors and fourteen plus (14+) year; Masters and twelve plus (12+) years; PhD or JD and nine plus (9+) years engineering and integration experience.
