Description
SAIC is seeking a GEOINT Remote Sensing Integration Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA)
services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer as part of an exciting and innovative
program.
The GEOINT Remote Sensing Integration Systems Engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs with responsibilities that may include but not
limited to the following:
- Provide imagery science/remote sensing support related to the exploitation of imagery in the following sensor disciplines: radar, infrared, spectral, or geospatial (to include photogrammetry); assist government/contractor team in optimizing the collection and exploitation of varied imagery data types.
-Explore emerging geospatial data sources and analytic capabilities and integrate them into government systems and processes.
- Apply remote sensing techniques and capabilities to mission issues; investigate innovative and emerging technologies; and evaluate approaches and algorithms, refinement, development of measures of effectiveness, improvements to system environments, and creation of new procedures.
- Support the System Program Office (SPO) by providing oversight of ground systems development and integration activities, with specific focus on the system engineering processes to ensure end-to-end system closure and satisfaction of mission need
- Assess integration activities in the context of cross-systems dependencies (technical, resource, and schedule) and present findings, analysis, and recommendations
Work Location and Travel:
Support full time in Springfield VA; with occasional local travel.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience & Skills
5+ years of related experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science, engineering, or similar engineering/science field and/or experience in applied image processing and scientific analysis of imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar), including knowledge of image formation, and associated discipline phenomenology.
Understanding of space based remote sensing platforms and associated ground systems and geospatial data.
Additional required experience includes scientifically processing imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar), proficiency with techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of associated discipline data processing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance
- Technical knowledge of GEOINT command and control, mission management, and/or mission processing systems, or relevant and related knowledge
-Experience with intelligence products, analytics, and services as well as satellite systems and processing
- Knowledge and experience with system engineering principals and processes
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other government agencies and mission partners
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
- Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in community forums
- Prior experience supporting an IC customer

- Experience with various systems development methodologies (e.g Agile, DevOps, Spiral, Waterfall, etc.)
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Familiar with GEOINT missions systems, launch and initialization activities, and operations
- Experience using systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy
solutions for Satellite Systems
- Knowledge of how space systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested
- Experience with lifecycle readiness from System Requirements Review through system decommissioning
- Experience in system engineering and analysis at the Enterprise level
