SAIC’s Business Enablement represents the full depth and breadth of the acquisition value chain – from the sell side (customer engagement and strategy development) to the buy side (program execution, strategic alliances, supply chain management and subcontractor development).  We are the full acquisition organization that supports our external and internal customer mission. Our dynamic team of acquisition professionals support key business areas and strategy for SAIC’s Growth Technology Accelerants (GTA) as well as core business initiatives. GTAs include Secure Cloud, Enterprise IT and Systems Integration & Delivery. Core business includes Engineering Services, IT & Technical Services and Logistics & Supply Chain.

This position is available 100% remote nationwide. 

Position Description:

SAIC’s Business Enablement organization is seeking a forward thinking, collaborative, highly skilled individual to join our Procurement Team as a Subcontracts Sr Principal.  Individual must be able to work independently as they will serve as the centralized point of contact and subject matter expert on all non-services/labor based purchases. Responsible for understanding and driving transparency between the programs and procurement around forecasts, demand, sourcing and procure to pay performance. Create and drive efficiency and predictability in execution against forecast demand giving the organization the ability to manage materials acquisition to meet both program and enterprise performance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Business Enablement Business Unit Leaders, Business Unit Profit & Loss (P&L) leaders, and Business Unit Finance leadership to understand SAIC Fiscal Year Annual Operating Plan (AOP) material demand
  • Engage with internal Business Unit/Account/Program leadership to understand their quarterly/annual material demand
  • Coordination with the Strategic Sourcing team in driving material demand to preferred suppliers
  • Support supplier business reviews
  • Improve quality of material requirements
  • Track and drive timely goods receipts
  • Assist Material Managers in issue resolution
  • Identify opportunities to improve/streamline material procurement process
  • Identify needs for material master agreement

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more of experience

Required Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of the Government acquisition process
  • Proven history of purchasing in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and ability to discern and apply various Government Agency-specific regulations
  • Individual must be a highly skilled collaborator, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Individual must possess a positive attitude, with the ability to manage multiple critical tasks independently and proactively
  • Exercise a high degree of independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for leveraging the supply chain to provide working/turn-key solutions to the programs most difficult problems.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize a complex and challenging portfolio.  Individual must be highly organized and adaptable, able to quickly identify and respond to the needs of SAIC and our customers.
  • Advanced functional and system skills, enabling the individual to be agile in responding to and meeting the needs of competing requirements.
  • Leadership or mentor experience
  • Systems skills including but not limited to Costpoint, Microsoft Office tools (notably Excel and Word),  Adobe, and an electronic procurement system such as Cornerstone or other comparable tool.
