SAIC is seeking a Business Development Senior Manager to join SAIC’s fastest growing Business Unit (BU) to focus on its Department of Defense Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) account space with particular emphasis on the Air Force’s Air Battle Management System (ABMS). The Air Force, DoD Agencies & Commands (AFDODAC) BU has huge momentum with recent win in foundational C2 programs to include prime on the AOC Falconer Modernization program, prime on the ABMS Cloud-Based Command & Control program, and one of five members of the ABMS Digital Infrastructure Consortium.

Geographic location is not as important as candidate quality.  The position is designated as flexwork with travel about 50% of the time.

The Business Development Professional is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and assisting with the capture for a robust pipeline that supports the AFDODAC BU growth objectives.  Additionally, the Business Development Professional is responsible for helping manage and guide development of pursuits to include initial development, in concert with solutioning resources, of a proposed solution. 

The candidate will also participate in the development of:

  • Establishing Value Propositions
  • Guiding Teaming Actions
  • Developing Win Strategies
  • Supporting Price to Win Strategies
  • Supporting Capture Planning

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assess organizational growth objectives and align them to defined opportunity targets to ensure a robust pipeline within the JADC2 and ABMS portfolio areas; manages assigned portfolio pipeline as the opportunity owner
  • Apply a strong understanding of JADC2/ABMS and its mission partners, to include leadership, organizational behavior, buying practices, major programs and industry positions, to develop and manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities
  • Working knowledge of other Services’ JADC2 programs and initiatives (i.e. Project Convergence and Project Overmatch)
  • Strong customer engagement skills and ability to communicate SAIC solutions and capability offerings to potential customers
  • Close interaction with AFDODAC BU team members including operational leadership, and SMEs to build and execute call plans to position SAIC for successful pursuits
  • Supports developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances
  • Effectively engages with capture manager(s) and program manager/teams to ensure opportunity objectives and initial solutioning effectively transition into capture activities.
  • Communicates resource needs and leveraging resources assigned is critical to the success of every business development manager; collaborating with subject & technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers
  • Gathers, assesses, and validates customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers -- identifies related needs and constraints that impact winning solution
  • Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats – conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
  • Participates in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 14 - 18 years of experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Established relationships within the Air Force Air Battle Manager community
  • Understanding of ABMS organizational objectives, current and projected capability needs, and related opportunities
  • Recent track record successfully identifying and developing opportunities to award with a value of $100M and greater; experience with product and commercial offering sales desired
  • Business experience with DoD customers with focus on innovation and technology insertion; understanding of advancements in technology and revolutionary concepts that offer potential enhancements or breakthroughs in military capabilities
  • In-depth understanding of the business growth process (business development and capture management) preferred

Required Clearance

  • Secret clearance required
  • Top Secret clearance (with SCI eligibility) preferred

Desired skills

  • Previous military experience 

Target salary range: More than $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
