SAIC is seeking a Senior CAD Drafter/Designer to contribute in developing documentation for systems development & deployment, processing & analysis, systems engineering & integration, and training capabilities and solutions for the Navy and joint branches of the DoD. We are seeking an innovative and dedicated professional to fulfill their career goals and objectives while delivering mission excellence on programs of national importance. Daily work will be conducted onsite at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) located in Old Town, San Diego, California

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Creates drawings, lists, documents, and other artifacts to develop Installation Design Plans (IDPs) in accordance with the Navy Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) and defined drawing series within.
  • Reviews, checks, and provides feedback of other's technical drawings and documents.
  • Provides guidance and assurance that deliverables are developed in accordance with standards, specifications, and organization policies.
  • Enforces organizational documentation development policies, documentation control processes, file organization and maintenance, and identifies enhancements for efficiencies and quality assurance.
  • Creates and modifies detailed drawings using standard computer aided design (CAD) digitizing techniques and skills from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
  • Digitizes, edits, and revises engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies.
  • Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.
  • Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and Engineering/Enterprise Change documentation.
  • May make engineering computations, mathematical calculations, determines scales, and prepares or revises specifications.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • AA Degree in related discipline and six (6) years or more of related experience; OR High School and eight (8) years of related experience with relevant certification.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in producing electronic, electrical and mechanical drawings from rough engineering sketches or from existing equipment installations.
  • Five (5) years of experience in using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems as principal drafting tool.
  • Three (3) years of full-time professional work experience and expertise with AutoCAD version 2009 or newer.
  • Working knowledge of Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) version 4.0 and/or version 4.1 for MILCON drawing development.
  • AutoCAD professional certification is a plus
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Candidate must currently possess a Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
