Join SAIC’s OneSETA Team to provide our government customer with Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) support. SETA services range from providing administrative assistance to providing expert technical assistance on national efforts that will contribute to maintaining and expanding the capabilities of homeland security. 

In support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate S&T Critical Infrastructure Security & Resilience Research (CISRR) Program to conduct critical infrastructure security and resilience research, and development, test, and evaluation.

The CISRR program requires a variety of written materials for internal and external release on CISRR programs, products and technologies. Additionally, CISRR program shall require the creation of fact sheets, brochures, reports, publications and other written products for use in informing stakeholders and the general public about S&T and its accomplishments. 

The Contractor shall perform the following tasks in consultation with CISRR federal program staff: 

  • Initiate contacts, research, interview subject matter experts, draft and edit fact sheets, reports, procedures, metrics studies, and regular S&T Feature Articles and assist federal staff in submitting press releases and Feature Articles through the COD and DHS Office of Public Affairs (OPA) review process. 

  • Prepare reports, publications, marketing plans, strategies, and status reports for review and publication. 

  • Edit and format materials for groups/divisions/offices as required with clarity, logic, persuasion, and effectiveness. 

  • Assist with internal writing assignments as requested for posting to S&T SharePoint site, and email blasts to S&T staff. 

  • Ensure all documents and publications are error-free and comply with DHS branding guidance. This includes internal and public facing documents, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, posters, web postings, etc. 

  • Draft edit, proofread, and/or format technical reports, presentations, fact sheets, pre-award procurement/ acquisition documents, talking points, background papers, S&T Feature Articles, content for S&T website, social media pieces, material for S&T SharePoint site and other print or electronic materials. 

  • Review and edit for grammar, style, punctuation, structure, etc., all S&T promotional products, fact sheets, program brochures and other public release documents. 

  • Coordinate and collaborate with S&T’s subject matter experts to draft, edit, and update fact sheets and literature aimed at stakeholders for outreach efforts; summarize detailed, specialized information abstracts or executive summaries. 

  • Serve as first technical editor on the CISRR including DHS Component Report; serve as final technical editor on written materials produced others that are submitted to final approval. 

  • Prepare, edit, and format the monthly metrics 

  • Edit and coordinate text, tables, photos, and art for technical reports while remaining well-versed in the challenges of translating complex technical concepts to varied audiences and situations by following current trends.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience 

  • Must have at minimum, an active Secret clearance.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Travel may be required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) environment.

  • Current or Prior DHS fitness (suitability) authorization determination. 

  • Current or Prior DHS experience including any DHS components or HQ Directorates, especially DHS S&T. 

  • Detailed knowledge of and recent demonstrated experience working with appropriate offices and staff within the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE), DHS, other Federal Agencies, Congress, foreign partners, industry groups, and private sector stakeholder entities on issues relating to the DHS mission space.
