SAIC in support of our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems, space and ground system architecture development, software development and component-level integration, maturation of technology into existing space/ground systems of record, and transition of concepts to operational capabilities.  Candidate will provide SE&I support to the Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Sensing (SN) Directorate’s Tools, Applications, and Processing (TAP) Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, and integration support to the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Battlespace Awareness Center (OBAC) at Buckley SFB, Aurora, Colorado. 
This role provides systems engineering and integration expertise in support of the SSC MW and SBEM capability areas.
 
Major duties of the position include:
  • Interfacing with a wide range of customers and stakeholders at various levels on a daily basis to support the analysis of data exploitation opportunities, development of potential solutions, and preparation of operations transition and integration-related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support of TAP Lab and SSC/SN decision making
  • Supporting system engineering and integration planning for SSC/SN future ground, hardware, software, and application development in the TAP Lab
  • Analyzing / decomposing high-level strategic roadmaps & integrating into actionable program plans
  • Analyzing transition to operations plans and supporting transition reviews for the OBAC
  • Providing recommendations on transition, integration and operations strategies and technical implementation of future ground system and application development in the OBAC
  • Supporting certification of readiness to transition to operational capability in the OBAC
  • Interacting with contractor and government leads to ensure that system and interface requirements are consistent with planned ground transition and data exploitation activities
  • Coordinating and executing integration activities including hardware, software, cybersecurity and network upgrades

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics or equivalent technical discipline and 9+ years of systems integration and systems engineering related or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to provide technical analyses, program management insight and thought leadership to a government customer
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), project integration, schedule analysis and stakeholder processes
  • Demonstrated experience working with Space Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment
  • Knowledge and experience in Space systems (especially at SSC), OPIR systems, Weather systems, ground and space system acquisition, and system engineering processes
Desired Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience working in an Agile team/framework
  • OPIR and SBEM Mission experience is highly desirable
RSSE&I

Target salary range: $145,001 - $155,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
