Description
SAIC is looking for a Software Specialist Co-op at NASA Goddard NASA's Exploration & In-space Services Projects Division. NASA's Exploration & In-space Services Projects Division (NExIS; https://nexis.gsfc.nasa.gov/) is a multifaceted team that continues the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope Servicing Missions, advancing new technologies for robotic and human servicing and exploration.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a passion for learning and design to assist with a variety of projects, including:
- Work with software engineers to design, implement, and test various robotic elements
- Contribute to front-end software for operating and/or visualizing a complex robot system in both simulation and hardware environments
- Provide support to robotic operators during ground test activities (if local)
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School and three (3) or more years of college coursework in a technical field
Desired Experience:
- Experience with C++ and/or Python, git
- Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) and object-oriented practices desired
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, work independently, and take initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
