SAIC is seeking talented a Test Engineer to support NSWC Crane and the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Hypersonic weapons system program. In this role, the candidates will assist the program in ground test planning, coordination, and post mission activities, working closely with top program leadership and a variety of other agencies and stakeholders (i.e., service agencies, contractors, government national labs, industry partners, warfare centers).  Candidates will help facilitate coordination and integration between CPS leadership and staff, their counterparts at Prime Contractor sites and other National Team sites, and hypersonic advanced technology providers in support of T&E activities. This position is located in Crane, IN.

 JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Technical and administrative support to the CPS Advanced Concepts (SPC7) functional branch.
  • Help prepare test execution estimates for submission to Financial and Contracts team.
  • Progress monitoring and reporting. Candidate will provide weekly status reporting to the CPS Advanced Concepts Functional Areal Lead. 
  • Organization and participation in technical and readiness reviews, and technical working groups.
  • Collaboration with all stakeholder groups to determine and communicate test requirements.
  • Preparation and delivery of briefings for Test Coordination Working Groups.
  • Collaboration with CPS Advanced Concepts (SPC7) Team and Technology Providers to assess and track readiness of program candidate technologies; the candidate will help capture technology test requirements and coordinate the appropriate national test asset/environment for ground test activities.
  • Support for test facility/range coordination and planning activities, including safety working groups.
  • Support development of test documentation, plans and procedures.
  • Support for post mission and test data analysis.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace Engineering Degree preferred) and 2 years’ experience.
  • Ability to work cross-organization coordination efforts and engage directly with senior DoD personnel and industry executives.
  • Understanding of DoD T&E process.
  • Practical test engineering and development experience.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills. Candidate may need to lead high-level working group meetings and deliver briefings to top program leadership.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance
  • US Citizenship required

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • 2+ years DoD program test engineering experience (Navy, UAV, and/or weapons systems experience preferred).
