SAIC is hiring a Cloud Engineer to support the US Air Force Cloud One contract. The candidate will build, integrate, and maintain installing, configuring, and managing Kubernetes in an AWS GovCloud environment within the Virtual Data Center (VDC) systems through the Amazon Web Services (AWS). The candidate will investigate and analyze activities related to infrastructure incidents within the network environment in coordination with the Air Force DTA Security Operations Center, System Administrators and other System Engineers. This position is 100% remote.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Automation Engineer skills installing, configuring, and managing Kubernetes within an AWS GovCloud environment
- Assist in determining scope, urgency, and potential impact and track infrastructure incidents from initial detection through final resolution
- Provide engineering, administration and maintenance support to the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment
- Provide Windows and Linux support when needed
- Collaborate using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for use of AWS native services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage (S3) and Amazon Simple DB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Discover and resolve issues within the virtual environments
- Design new capabilities and enhancements (to include Cloud Migration and Analytics design and development) and create efficiencies within the AWS environments
- Experience working with administrator and service accounts and troubleshooting issues
- Creates/updates and Maintains system documentation, interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
- Assist in the delivery ATO’s documentation for IL2/IL4 environments, work with IA team to define, document and implement Security Controls
- Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Report findings to management with recommendations for resolution
- Maintain regular contact with customers during support and projects
- Provide technical assistance and training to users
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Three (3) or more years of experience, vendor certification and in-depth knowledge of at least one cloud product

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
