SAIC is seeking a Space Cryptography System Engineer to support in Chantilly, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.

In this role you will work as an integral member of a team of Space Crypto Engineers responsible for providing guidance and technical support for the development, engineering, testing, and deployment of terrestrial and space COMSEC solutions.  You will provide cryptographic engineering and design guidance to satellite program offices and /or development contractors by developing and maintaining functional system and/or product specifications, reviewing technical deliverables, participating in technical exchanges and design reviews with developers and assess developers’ technical trade recommendations and engineering change proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct systems engineering, crypto architecture engineering, and assist in the program planning and execution of next-generation capabilities
• Plan and manage study efforts, systems of systems engineering efforts, technical and engineering working groups
• Evaluate and certify the implementation and integration of cryptography and cybersecurity-related solutions into space systems
• Troubleshoot cryptographic equipment and system issues
• Develop and coordinate crypto design documentation in support of NSA certification and non-standard NSA approvals
• Support development of a strategic roadmap for enhancing an enterprise testing infrastructure
• Develop and coordinate requirements and reporting documents with various stakeholders across the community
• Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews
• Draft and coordinate Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents, such as Security Evaluation Document (SED), System Architectural and Security Design Document (SASDD), Key Generation and Management Plan and Procedures (KGMPP), User Guide / Manual, Embedment Guides and Interface Control Document (ICD) for technical accuracy;
• Develop various technical and engineering products that will inform future acquisition strategies

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

• Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
• BS/MS in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline  
• 5+ years of engineering experience in: cryptographic architecture and requirements development, communications equipment testing, cryptographic system integration and test, aerospace electronic systems, or similar disciplines
• Understanding of most of the following
  • Digital logic circuit design and analysis
  • Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)/ASIC logic design and implementation
  • Cryptographic algorithms (i.e. Cryptographic Core Processor (CCP) and GRYPHON implementation of AES-256, COSMIC, PEGASUS, CARDHOLDER, CAROUSEL, CARNIVAL, OpenSSL, etc.) and equipment (i.e. KI-55, KI-103, KI-18, etc.)
  • Space-related hardware and technology
  • SmallSat medium/high assurance security solutions
  • NSA cryptographic certification process
  • Space and terrestrial communications systems
  • TEMPEST testing, Development Verification Testing & Security Verification Testing

Desired Qualifications:

• Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) – especially Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules, AES-256, GCM, and GCM-SIV
• Experience with cryptographic libraries such as OpenSSL
