SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer Senior to support the NASA MOSSI II Contract. This position is in Huntsville, AL. Contract is 8.5 years in duration and just started 1 January 2023. The position allows some flexibility for virtual execution, but their are times when a physical presence at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL is required.

 

Job Description:

  • Leads systems engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle of engineering for the Huntsville Operations Support Center (HOSC).  Works closely with other NASA centers in performing Payload Missions and Operations. 
  • This includes emerging Human Exploration Moon to Mars missions (e.g. Gateway, Human Landing System (HLS), Artemis, Space Launch System (SLS), etc.).  Also seeking someone with a focus of leveraging emerging technology, tools, and processes to turbocharge Continuous Improvement, Innovations, and Efficiency projects to modernize the HOSC. 
  • Seeking a visionary with ideas that emphasize improved user experiences, native cloud based prototypes and architectures, including those that emphasizing resiliency improvements. 
  • Working with at team of 28 systems engineers for not only Huntsville, AL deployed architectures, but systems deployed at other sites to include Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Texas, Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico, etc.). 
  • Role seeks a person who would like to be a key technical contributor helping assist and shape NASA's annual Planning, Programming, Budgeting. and Execution (PPBE) process for NASA Payload Missions and Operations. 
  • Coordinates with the help of the Principal Architect with all technical staff to include software development, testing, systems administration and management, flight operations, ground operations, systems maintenance, and facility maintenance for assigned projects as the engineering lead. 
  • Leads technical coordination with NASA enterprise network operations (AEGIS), and Independent Verification, and Validation (IV&V) associate contracts for assigned projects as the engineering lead. 
  • Looking for someone with a passion for excellence, loves leading technical teams, and is a thought leader when it comes to finding ways to improve capabilities and processes.  

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
  • Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

 

Desired Education:

  • BS in an engineering or related technical field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Software Development etc.)

 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. 

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
