The Contractor is responsible for meeting and greeting visitors to the ASC; checking the hands of applicants for open wounds or cuts, distributing the Applicant Information Worksheet (AIW), and checking applicant identification documents to include the initial applicant processing actions; and answering routine inquires for information or referring requests to the appropriate source within the office. The receptionist may be required to check NASS and print appointment notices as needed. The Department Of Labor (DOL) labor category for this job duty has been assessed as a General Clerk II.
The General Clerk follows clearly detailed procedures in performing simple repetitive tasks in the same sequence. Responsibilities would include filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file, or operating office equipment, (e.g., mimeograph, photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine). General Clerk II requires familiarity with the terminology of the office unit. The General Clerk selects appropriate methods from a wide variety of procedures or makes simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals. The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task. Recognized problems are referred to others.
