The Contractor is responsible for meeting and greeting visitors to the ASC; checking the hands of applicants for open wounds or cuts, distributing the Applicant Information Worksheet (AIW), and checking applicant identification documents to include the initial applicant processing actions; and answering routine inquires for information or referring requests to the appropriate source within the office. The receptionist may be required to check NASS and print appointment notices as needed. The Department Of Labor (DOL) labor category for this job duty has been assessed as a General Clerk I.
The General Clerk follows clearly detailed procedures in performing simple repetitive tasks in the same sequence. Responsibilities would include filing pre-coded documents in a chronological file, or operating office equipment, (e.g., mimeograph, photocopy, addressograph or mailing machine). General Clerk I follows clearly detailed specific procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coding and filing documents in an extensive alphabetical file; could involve simple posting to individual accounts, opening mail, calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts, operating basic office equipment, e.g., photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, mailing machines, and minimal computer programs.
