JOB DESCRIPTION:  SAIC is seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Engineer to support the Customer’s new cryptocurrency portfolio focused on various elements of this emerging technology.  The successful candidate will be the lead Cloud Systems Engineer responsible for collaborating with the Cloud Architect to design and build a sandbox platform that will allow the customer to conduct tests and research in Blockchain infrastructure, Web3.0, and the geopolitical underpinnings of these technologies.  S/he will collaborate with subject matter experts across industry and government on this critical new technology arena.  The candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks.  

Key duties for the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinate and communicate Cloud activities.
• Translate business outcomes into technical requirements.
• Recommend Cloud solutions to satisfy technical and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Cloud documentation.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

• Current TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (four years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of a degree) and at least ten years of experience.
• Expertise in all phases of the software development life cycle and solution delivery for web, client-server, and cloud-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices.
• Proven track record of work experience as a cloud engineer.
• Experience in various software designs, languages, and architecture.
• Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
• Strong data security skills including network security, encryption, authorization, and protocols.
• Expertise in web-based frameworks (e.g., Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), .NET, JavaScript, jQuery).
• Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems relevant to candidates work area (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres).
• Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC.
• Knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP).
• Solution definition and problem-solving skills.
• Record of accomplishment supporting the customer on planning, implementing, and tracking team initiatives and deliverables.
• Advanced communication skills with a focus on communicating complex technical topics to non-technical individuals.
• Collaboration skills to support relationships with stakeholders to draw requirements and leverage partnerships.
• Demonstrated and thorough understanding of emerging technologies.
• Skilled with MS Office suite of products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with knowledge management tools, in particular Confluence.
• Cloud provider certification (such as AWS).
