Description
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled systems engineer with a background in data migration and cloud. The engineer will be responsible for building, improving and deploying creative solutions to meet the unique demands of the LevelUp and Day II IT environments while adhering to cybersecurity principles and fundamentals. The engineer will utilize data and cloud platforms to STIG, configure and test platform components, perform systems administration, and integrate DevSecOps tools and services while leveraging multiple operating systems such as Python, Bash, SQL, and Java to build and implement innovative solutions; capture and deploy virtual applications.
Our new teammate will be able to work equally well in a team as on their own. We want a team player that is eager and ready for a challenge. This will be a hybrid remote role with travel for program execution requirements.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelors and fourteen (14 years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine(9) years or more experience or 18 years or more of experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with data migration tools, such as Nexus, Confluence, Jira
- Experience with containers and orchestrators such as Kubernetes
- Excellent understanding of operating systems and how they function and interact (back-up and restore for tools, such as Nexus, Confluence, Jira)
- Experience with Windows desktop and server OS’s
- Experience with Basic AWS cloud
- Knowledge of security concepts applicable to local and cloud systems
- Knowledge of server hardware and storage technology
- Knowledge of virtualized network infrastructure and how it interacts with physical network infrastructure
- Applicant must have a Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security clearance
- Security+ Certification
- Must have Secret Clearance
This is a remote position with some travel to San Antonio, TX.
Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
