Description

The National Security Customer Group of SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois.  The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Lead Technical Writer, PM and Technical Leads to ensure that the technical writing/documentation requirements are met for the Program.   
 
Responsibilities may include:
  • Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation with full technical and format compliance within the DoD standards 
  • Coordinating development and production of all text and graphics for all formal documents 
  • Assisting the Program team in enabling accurate, effective, and efficient documentation and material that drives full end-user understanding  
  • Learning complex technical information and communicate it in a readable, concise, and accurate manner to both technical and non-technical persons 
  • Coordinating shared content and deliverables with other writers 
 
This position is for Monday through Friday, normal business hours.   

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6+) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of experience with a Master’s Degree.  Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 
  • Speaks and writes fluent, grammatically correct English 
  • Experience researching and writing excellent documentation and examples for technical personnel 
  • Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project 
  • Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment 
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures 
  • Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility 
DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification 
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance
