SAIC’s National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission and Information Technology Division, provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as systems engineering, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, application development, DevSecOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cloud Architect to join our multi-million dollar National Intelligence program supporting the Cloud Investment Multi-Cloud Management (CIMM) team. As a contributor to the Intelligence Community’s first multi-cloud initiative, you will be at the epicenter of emergent cloud computing technologies, establishing a foundation that will evolve to include all agencies within the IC. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will advise Government IT teams on the design and build of single- or multi-cloud computing architecture solutions that meet mission requirements, and develop future technology and architectural advancements to support the Government’s architectural strategy, cloud migration, and continued evolution. Additionally, you will provide cloud architectural and engineering services to assist the Sponsor’s personnel create a cloud focused system designed to meet the current workload supported by their existing physical domain, as well as consider additional cloud specific services to make use and administration more efficient.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:
Evaluating the Sponsor’s current physical domain on the WMA and providing a prospective solution that includes all functional capabilities of the current TS environment
Providing comparative analysis on capabilities of the five (5) Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to fulfill requirements
Assisting in editing the technical requirements in order to ensure requirements are cloud agnostic, suggesting edits to ensure CSP specific language is removed
Authoring a Technical Risk Assessment to evaluate risk and mitigation strategies in advance of Cloud migration
Providing assistance in the provisioning and configuration of the proposed cloud solution (if available) by a cloud engineer
May be required to provide cloud agnostic technical guidance in the formulation of customer multi-cloud work statements
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM domain or related field
Ten (10) or more years of experience in a cloud and/or hybrid environment
Ten (10) or more years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following activities:
IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services (compute, storage, network, security, administration, automation, application services, and databases)
Designing and deploying cloud solutions to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), IBM Cloud, or Oracle Cloud
Large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and information systems implementation
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices
Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and support data repositories
Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team, as well as the CSPs (AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, and Oracle)
Certification(s):
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
Cloud related (e.g., DevOps, Security, and/or ML)
Desired Qualifications
Certifications in Azure, GCP, IBM, and/or Oracle
Experience as a Cloud Agnostic Architect
Strong analysis and quality assessment skills
Experience with successful full life cycle cloud development projects
Experience with various Linux and Microsoft Windows OSs distributions
Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and databases
Experience migrating both custom built and enterprise apps to and from on-prem to cloud
Experience debugging performance and technical issues
Experience building and deploying systems in the cloud using continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) frameworks and infrastructure automation
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
Ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to adjust to change priorities
