Description
We are looking for experienced, Air Traffic Control Instructors to join the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team supporting air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Candidate(s) selected for these positions will support onsite training requirements as a Casual, Air Traffic Basics, Instructor-I, at the FAA Academy, in Oklahoma City, OK.
The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for ensuring that air traffic control specialists provide the flying public with a high level of safety and professionalism. A well-trained Air Traffic Control workforce plays an essential role in fulfilling this responsibility.
To provide such air traffic services, the FAA trains new air traffic control specialists and provides recurrent training to current air traffic control specialists. To ensure these training needs are met, the FAA utilizes Contractor-provided instructional services at the FAA Academy and FAA ATC facilities throughout the U.S. and its Territories.
The scope of the contractor-provided services includes all training and training program support to successfully train and prepare students to become fully certified Air Traffic Controllers. SAIC must provide training and training related support services as required for all types and levels of ATC facilities.
The CTS Academy ATC Basics Instructor-I is a hands-on position that requires the candidate to effectively and consistently deliver the highest quality classroom instruction to a wide variety of developmental air traffic control students.
The successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge, skills and experience with current ATC requirements, rules and procedures, and must be able to obtain and maintain ATC Instructor-I certification at the FAA Academy.
These instructors will primarily conduct and administer the Air Traffic Basics Terminal course, the Air Traffic Basics En Route course, and/or the Air Traffic Basics TRACON course, which deal with aviation topics such as aerodynamics, aviation charts, and airport marking. They may also participate in the conduct or administration of Human Performance for ATC (HPATC) or other courses and/or in ISD projects, to include the development, revision, and maintenance of ATC Training Courses.
