Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead Workstation Baseline Software Configuration efforts in support of our NIWC PAC customer for the OCONUS Navy Enterprise network (ONE-Net). This position is responsible for support for the production engineering, installation of new capabilities and procurement of IT systems which includes patching support for client operating systems as well as security patches.

This program has been been newly awarded to SAIC and is expected to begin March of 2023.

Work is performed both on-site in San Diego, CA as well as remote flex-work in the local area.

Job Duties:

  • Lead development of new deployable Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) automated or manual solutions.
  • Provide Information Assurance analysis and scanning of new Workstation models and applications using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Security Compliance Automated Protocol (SCAP) or applicable security analysis tools and provide outputs of services and protocols. 
  • Assist the Application Security Assessment by ensuring that applications are ready for Information Assurance (IA) security compliance reviews.
  • Work with vendors to resolve any initial findings resulting from an IA security review and work with customers to obtain any required documentation, media or installation instructions as required to process the RFC.
  • Ensure that WBSC hardware and applications are in compliance with DODI 8500.2, policies and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). 
  • Ensure compliance of Security Requirements Guides (SRG) or Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and provide feedback to the Security Engineering and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Teams.
  • Provide Patch Management for all approved baseline workstation (Line of business) applications and support the Engineering team to incorporate patches into the patch management system.
  • Support deficiency correction and modification for the WBSC Software Packages that will be deployed at eight separate environments (2 lab and 6 operational), as patches are released to include testing patches (manually and via automated methods) in the lab environment and documentation of patches that apply to a particular WBSC image version.
  • Assist with issues regarding patch deployment to the operational sites during modernization efforts.

Qualifications

Required Education, Certifications, Experience:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in lieu of degree may be considered
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ required).
  • Experience with MECM or SCCM is required
  • Experience in Applications testing – Pre/Post Scans, ACAS, STIG, etc.
  • Creating installation procedures.
  • Creating test procedures.
  • Windows OS, Software applications Operating Systems and network experience.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting, problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Security Clearance: Secret

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
