Description

The Peripheral Support Specialist assists in the issue and receipt of IT equipment, materials, and supplies. Working environment is a mix of both an office setting and a warehouse environment. Support personnel may be required to routinely lift or move objects unassisted up to 70 pounds. The Government Property Manager or the COR shall review work for accuracy, timeliness, and conformance to regulatory guidelines and technical specifications as appropriate.

This position supports the following job duties:

  1. Maintains IT inventory records
  2. Works with IT management for scheduling computer distribution and refresh cycle
  3. Processes IT equipment for storage, reassignment, or disposal
  4. Delivers, installs, or relocates equipment as needed
  5. Orders, installs, configures, and works with vendors to maintain document production equipment (i.e., Print, Copy, Scan, Plot, and Fax equipment)
  6. Coordinates supply and repair services with manufacturers and vendors when needed
  7. Collects and reports document production equipment usage statistics
  8. Receives and ships IT hardware as required
  9. Wipes/degausses computers and external drives to ensure data removal
  10. Responds to customer requests and enters work orders in ticketing system
  11. Acts as primary backup to the System Administration team
  12. Provides backup support to the Service Desk as needed

Note: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and who has the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.

Qualifications

Experience:  Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience providing IT Hardware and Software Deployment,

                            Troubleshooting, and Problem Resolution support to end users.

                            Duties: Performs day-to-day activities required to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to end users, to include,

                            move/add/change of end user equipment, software install and upgrades, and general troubleshooting and

              problem resolution


Target salary range: $25,001 - $50,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
