Job Description


Job Description: Provides technical support to Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ) and support staff by installing, upgrading, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging computer systems, complex software, and networked systems.  Member of small team that responds to situations as first-line product support to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.  Coordinates with Pentagon IT and facility offices for problem resolution, equipment issues, and tracking compliance. Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or software issues along with solution recommendations to government customer.  Provides support to customer/users on Video Teleconferencing configurations across a number of offices the customer occupies in the Pentagon.  Supports customer with facilities management, scheduling, tracking, and equipment (including SCIFs, and SAPFs). 


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to more junior team members to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies, which affect organization.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. IMPACT: Effects of decisions are long lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.

LIASON: Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience.

Must have an active DoD Top Secret with SCI access.


Experience as with US government records management.

Experience in coordinating facilities support in an office environment.
