Description
SAIC is seeking an energetic and personable individual to support the 18 Space Defense Squadron (SDS) located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. 18 SDS provides continuous, comprehensive and combat-relevant space domain awareness by tracking man-made objects in space. They also execute the Space Situational Awareness sharing program with U.S., commercial, academic, and foreign entities.
The TS-cleared and most qualified candidate will support 18 SDS in executing strategic communications to internal and external stakeholders. This individual will engage with senior leaders and other team members, helping them to develop a cutting-edge communications strategy, applying best practices to their organization activities. This role will support Public Affairs engagements, attendance at conferences and development of engagement strategies for specific audiences (e.g., satellite owner/operators, launch agencies, military partners, etc.), for specific purposes (e.g., promoting responsible behaviors and best practices for spaceflight safety, implementing Space Policy Directive-3). This role will entail travel approximately 10% of the time.
Candidate should possess: excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail; a strong sense of teamwork, responsibility and interpersonal skills with customer-service attitude; the ability to multitask and manage time wisely; adaptability and willingness to be flexible to project needs; project management experience with effective time/schedule self-management and the ability to meet tight deadlines with limited direct supervision; and demonstrated initiative.

Must have min.(9) years of experience with a BA/BS degree, or a Master Degre with (7) seven years of experience of technical experience In lieu of education must have a min. of 15 years of relevant experience with certifications in Public Affairs and other communications certifications that are relevant to the position

Experience with current industry best practices related to public affairs and digital communications
