Description

SAIC is seeking a highly effective, outcome-driven Site Deployment Lead for the Department of Veterans Affairs Supply Chain Modernization program. VA requires a modern, comprehensive supply chain, equipment, and facilities management capability which is easy to use, integrated and intelligent. The cloud-based supply chain modernization and management solution will be used by ~50K users across the agency, securely integrated with enterprise VA IT systems, and deployed to 1000s of sites.  


The candidate for this position may work anywhere in the United States. There is no requirement to work at a SAIC or customer site to support VA SCM.

The candidate for this position will

  • Work collaboratively in a product-centric scaled Agile DevSecOps environment to plan and oversee the deployment of new and updated VA SCM systems. 
  • Plan and manage the deployment activities and teams with focus on successful deployment and site testing. 
  • Confirm production environment configuration 
  • Work collaboratively to plan and engineer go-live events. 
  • Establish and follow release delivery processes based on VA guidelines. 
  • Develop release schedules, provide support during the technical release process, and verify production systems are functional following a successful release.
  • Work with VA SCM program and facility leads to plan access, survey, and resolve facility related issues. 
  • Work with the PM to proactively identify and mitigate implementation risks.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science related field and 18 years or more experience in related field, Masters and 16 years or more experience; PhD or JD and 15 years or more experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Hands on experience with Red Hat OpenShift continuous delivery automated pipeline 
  • Experience deploying services or APIs to facilitate integration with legacy systems 
  • Experience managing and deploying products within a microservices architecture 
  • Experience implementing instrumentation to monitor application health in the production environment

Required Clearance

  • Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust

 
Desired Skills

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, SAFe® or other modern software development methods/practices
  • Experience leading and overseeing teams of software and systems engineers
  • Working knowledge of and experience delivering products to the VAEC production environment using VAPO
  • Experience delivering Infor solutions for customers of similar size, scope, and complexity as the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
  • Holds a SAFe certification or has completed SAFe training

Target salary range: $165,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
