In the ever-changing space of Big Data, SAIC is looking for talented, innovative, and experienced individuals to help increase the speed of data delivery and integrate efficiencies to the current Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) environment.

SAIC is seeking an experienced, results-oriented, mission-driven professional with specialized focus on Systems Engineering and Integration in support of the USG.  The team is made up of multi-disciplinary engineers and software developers applying innovation.  We’re looking for talented, innovative, and experienced technicians/engineers who support the effort to increase the speed of data delivery for structured and unstructured data in the interest and support of national security objectives.  The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding executing IT systems and supporting transformations utilizing a Lean Agile framework that promotes collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement.   This is high visibility program, and we are seeking a results oriented individual self-starter.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Triage and collect new data requirements and work across the functional teams, with Stakeholders, and downstream customers to support the customer’s ETL process
  • Derive enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface level requirements and work with the team to develop the corresponding documentation
  • Support emerging technology adoption, government IT modernization efforts, and delivery of innovative technical solutions
  • Evaluate customer business practices to recommend an approach to support the delivery of new business model which will support new COTS product model
  • Work alongside development teams to successfully monitor and report the progress and implementation of initiatives
  • Interact with various stakeholders to understand their business needs, communicate project status and develop relationships to ensure satisfaction
  • Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seek to manage challenges
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed updates concerning customer experience
  • Leverage various data and technology resources to augment analysis
  • Support the planning and integration of new Data Delivery COTS product
  • Ensure solutions align with the strategic goals of the customer
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions, including the time and scope involved
  • Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience    
  • Ability to multi-task and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • 14+ years of overall professional experience (12+ years with Masters Degree, 9+ years experience with PhD)
  • Understanding the operational nature of a deployed software system
  • Aptitude for handling multiple tasks, workloads, changing priorities, and tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Jira
  • Ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action with sustainable solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work complex issues, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to apply organizational, planning, management, problem solving & execution skills to multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated capability and success working in team environments
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, report writing abilities, an aptitude for analyzing data, and great business acumen
  • Ability to evaluate customer needs, internal workflows and business processes

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Big Data, Data Warehousing, ETL, and DevOps
  • Knowledge of Nifi and/or Data Bricks
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies and Kanban Framework
