Description

SAIC is hiring a Space Subject Matter Expert (SME).  This position is located in Huntsville, AL.  

As the Space SME, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the customer in developing schedules and agendas for meetings; facilitating meetings; coordinating specific working groups and evaluating  emerging future concepts and capabilities across DOTMLPF-P elements through Army experiments and wargames to inform Army decisions. The candidate will also support wargames and experimentations by identifying key Learning Demands (LDs), Essential Elements of Analysis (EEA's), and the Experiment analysis plan for each of the major Tier 1 TRADOC Integrating Experiments and the COE-sponsored Tier 2 Limited Objective Experiments.

Other areas of support will include developing future warfare concepts for evaluation, providing Army campaign of learning reports and inputs as directed.  Integrate SMDC Learning Activities in to wargames, development of emerging materiel solutions; synchronization of Army and Joint-service operational assessments; rapid fielding initiatives and technology transitions. The candidate will coordinate program documents and other resources with DoD organizations. The candidate may also participate in capability studies such as Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) to review system capabilities and mission development and ensure traceability between the AoA’s Measures of Effectiveness, Measures of Performance and Measures of Cost (MOEs/MOPs/MOCs).

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience.

Required Clearance:

  • A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to begin employment
  • US citizenship is required

Required Skills:

  • Experience must be specific to Space, Space Control, Wargames, Concept Evaluation, Exercise support and processes and implementation strategies
  • Developing event-based schedules based on key events
  • Developing calendar-based schedules with expected task and event completion dates with dependency relationships among task and development of briefings and reports with supporting graphics and other analyses
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with at least fifteen (12) years’ experience communicating with military, civil service, senior leaders and highly-technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, preparing briefings and writing technical papers
  • Familiarity with Army military hierarchy, military terms and military acronyms

Desired Skills:

  • Technology development, joint-service program synchronization, user operational assessments/rapid fielding initiatives, and acquisition strategy/transition coordination
  • Expertise in technology assessments of emerging Science and Technology (S&T) and industry solutions relative to fulfilling system requirements, and support as required user juries and surveys to ensure acceptance and relevance to technology improvements that meet identified and related capability gaps
  • Expertise in the development of system-related briefings and reports that include supporting graphics and other technical analyses as required

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
