Are you interested joining SAIC to be part of the partnership providing high quality engineering advisory services, system planning, integration, architecture to our government intelligence agency customer. The members of this team provide dedicated support to the government customer’s mission by defining, planning, acquiring, procuring, integrating, testing, deploying, conducting technical analysis, locating, operating and maintaining access of collection systems. The team aids them in developing their access strategies and in developing and implementing "end-to-end" collection planning and optimization of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) resources.

Currently, we need a mid- career Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at the customer’s Fort Meade Maryland complex.  The selected ISSO will be part of a small but high-performing team – there is one SA, one ISSE, and one ISSO. Approx. 20 SSP’s to manage.  The successful individual will:

  • Provide support for the organization’s information assurance program.
  • Provide support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintain operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
  • Assist with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system.
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
  • Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation. Provides configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
  • Supports security authorization activities in compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework (NIST RMF).

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Ten (10) years’ experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
    • Experience is to include at least two (2) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • Four (4) years of additional experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
    • At least three years of the relevant experience should be in SIGINT Information Technology systems, SIGINT Information Assurance, and/or Knowledge of Computer Network Operations with MULTICAST, or VITA49).
  • Familiarity with getting ATO, managing IAVA, and working with IA tools such as BISCOTTI, LatteArt, etc. is critical.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is required. 
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.
