Join a winning team!  SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. NSS Sector has an opening for a Program Security Officer (PSO) for a large, multi-year contract supporting critical development programs. The PSO must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical security competence, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and implement the proper and effective security policy and procedures for the protection of classified efforts.. The customer organization we support provides the enterprise architecting, analysis, and systems engineering solutions that determine the current and future national space systems. The PSO will represent organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Using knowledge of the various security disciplines such as Physical Security, Personnel Security, Information System Security, and Industrial Security to determine, apply, and monitor appropriate security requirements for assigned programs
  • Support the creation, processing, coordination, and approval of Program Security documents and entering such information into applicable databases
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage security support for classified activities
  • Assist in the development, review, coordination, and execution of a wide range of Program Security documentation
  • Actively support Program Security Reviews at performer locations and the Self-Inspection Programs
  • Perform OPSEC analysis and provide other OPSEC support
  • Provide "day-to-day" multi-discipline analysis for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Providing day-to-day security support that includes continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and provide appropriate recommendations for revising and improving security policies, procedures, and systems
  • Assist in providing contractor and subordinate facility assistance and oversight
  • Brief all levels of personnel on a variety of security-related topics
  • Monitor, report, and track all corrective actions resulting from compliance reviews
  • Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and management staff



Required Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with Poly

Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years or more related experience

  • Expertise and ability to support working tasks with limited guidance and supervision
