SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer - Aviation to provide support for our US Navy customer. The position is located within the Program Executive Office for Tactical Aircraft Programs (PEO-T) Patuxent River, MD directly supporting the Capabilities Integrated Product Support Team (IPT) in the Next Generation Jammer – Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) acquisition program.

The capabilities IPT is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle sustainment of the Air Vehicle System, and planned product and capability improvements and modifications to the NGJ-MB pod.

***A hybrid work location model (roughly 50% on-site and Telework) will be employed for this position***

This position will directly support NGJ-MB Lead Engineer, with duties and responsibilities including/but not limited to:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to engineering discussions to help identify technical solutions that apply engineering theories, concepts, principles and processes.
• Coordinate research and problem solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
• Document solutions in relation to the technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Manage activities for specific segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measures, Technical Reviews, Modeling & Simulation, or EVM.
• Communicate with stakeholders across PMA 234, PMA 265, and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

***This position REQUIRES U.S. citizenship and, at minimum, an ACTIVE Interim Secret Clearance with the ability to achieve a DoD Secret-level clearance (requires citizenship). All candidates who do not meet this qualification will be immediately disqualified**

• Bachelor's Degree and 3 (three) years of directly related experience. No substitution for a formal degree is allowable for this role. Candidate must have an Engineering Degree.
• Professional Engineering Degree Requirement: 
  • To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum. 
  • Preferred to include differential and integral calculus and courses in one or more of the following areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics
• Minimum of Interim Secret Clearance required up front. Must be a US Citizen. 
• Prior experience with Naval Aviation
• EW Experience
