SAIC is seeking a Data Architect to fill a critical position on the LANDMARK AOS program. The position will be located in Chantilly, VA.  All candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

LANDMARK AOS is a large SETA contract, supporting the customer’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete program life cycle.

In this role, assist and advise Government managers responsible for the planning, acquisition, engineering, and development of overarching data services and capabilities in support of a variety of customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with a team conducting analysis and development of customer-driven technical data architectures and solutions.
  • Design, plan, and integrate a data-intensive application framework using modern data-centric enabling technologies, cloud computing and virtualization architecture.  
  • Provide specific, detailed information for technology implementations, application & data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet present mission needs and future capacity requirements. 
  • Determine approaches for making heterogeneous data sources broadly available for discoverability and access to support a wide consumer-base, analytic needs, and use by diverse applications, services, and systems. 
  • Optimize the management of data across nodes and the performance of distribution, discovery and retrieval. 
  • Identify performance bottle-necks and evaluate scaling benchmarks.  
  • Use technical expertise to evaluate and report on new cloud technologies and architectural approaches.  
  • Support systems engineering, compliance and security activities throughout the program life-cycle.   

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph 
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, science, or related discipline and 14 years or more experience (or a MS degree + 12 years or more experience) 
  • 3+ years of experience directly supporting data architecture and solution efforts and a demonstrated understanding of Systems Engineering and Acquisition processes. 
  • Expertise and experience with the IC acquisition cycle, requirements processes, budgetary practices, and acquisition documentation 
  • Strong oral and written communications to support interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractors at all levels on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between all organizations within a high-tempo environment 

Desired qualifications: 

  • Experience with data compliance and data security
  • Experience with modern data management approaches
  • Experience transitioning legacy systems to AWS/C2S optimized applications 
  • Experience in Dev/Ops delivery of software capabilities 
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification 
  • Certification in agile software development methods (Scrum, SAFe) 
  • Experience with IC and/or DoD space architectures, systems, and/or operations
  • Familiarity developing applications that use containers, microservices, serverless programming, and cloud services.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and verbal / written communication skills, able to convey information across multiple customer and engineer teams
