JOB DESCRIPTION:  SAIC is seeking an experienced and creative graphic designer to provide graphical support from idea conception to delivery for a Program Office leading an interagency effort with partnerships across the community against a hard target country of the greatest significance to future US plans.  The Program Office has overseen the largest effort of its kind since 2008 to create options for the USG against this important adversary.  The successful candidate will work closely with Program Office leadership and Emerging Technology campaign leads.  The customer project manager will manage priorities.  Occasional CONUS TDY travel is possible for this position.  Key duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Design and illustrate abstract ideas and concepts and graphically depict intelligence information for emerging technology concepts for use in visual presentations and publications to senior policymakers.
  • Provide graphics products using video, computer software, and other processes that visually express ideas.
  • Communicate with the customer to establish the objective of a design and suggest how best to meet the objective.
  • Advise the customer on design matters to be incorporated in final products.
  • Utilize state of the art computer graphics hardware and software including high level illustration software, 3D modeling and animation software, and photo manipulation software to create pictorial drawings and renderings of a technical nature.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (four years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of a degree) and (14) years or more of related experience. Masters and (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (9) years or more experience
  • Extensive artistic experience and knowledge of computer graphics skills in a wide range of communications and illustration concepts, principles, and practices to conceive, plan, and execute projects that fulfill multiple intelligence and often abstract ideas; and the ability to help others understand and interpret the intent of the graphics deliverable and messaging. 
  • In depth knowledge of and proficiency in the operation of computer graphics and knowledge of the production environments in which they are used.
  • In depth knowledge of major technologies in the communications industry to include video, computer animation, graphics, multimedia, presentation, and digital imaging.
  • Expertise in a wide range of communication and illustration concepts, principles, and practices to conceive, plan, and execute unique projects.
  • Successful experience working directly with customers on visualization needs.
  • Ability to brief and explain design strategy to customers, including senior leaders.
  • High comfort level handling multiple taskings and priorities.

 Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Experience conducting graphic design for finished intelligence analysis.
