Description

DOT is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in Windows Operating systems, Active Directory, Virtualization, Cloud, to support our Federal Government customer. The candidate will work within the Server Engineering team supporting the Infrastructure and Operations Hosting Environment within the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Windows Server infrastructure, to include administration of Windows Servers, File Shares, and Virtual Machines.  Provides technical solutions to the Windows Server team, overseeing activities within server deployment.  Responsible for incident management as it relates to Windows operating systems.  Performs advanced troubleshooting of complex system issues.  Works primarily in a virtualized and cloud environment.

Required Knowledge and Abilities: 

  1. Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 to 2019)
  2. VMware vSphere and Hyper-V Virtualization
  3. Active Directory administration
  4. Windows Failover Clustering
  5. Dell PowerEdge Rackmount and Blade servers
  6. Incident management and troubleshooting skills
  7. Windows file shares and security administration
  8. Windows Print Services and printer administration
  9. Azure and AWS administration and Implementation
  10. Scripting Experience: PowerShell and VBScript
  11. Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems
  12. Smart Card / PIV card experience

Qualifications

Preferred skills and qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
