Join a winning team!  SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the Intelligence Community (IC. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. NSS Sector has an opening for an Operational Systems Engineer for a large, multi-year contract supporting critical development programs. The Operational Systems Engineer must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical security competence, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and will provide Architecture level oversight and leadership in the development of novel payloads in support of critical national security objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of mission ground systems, primarily focused on mission operations tools, into the operational baseline
  • Analyze user needs, concept of operations, and high-level systems architectures to develop system requirements
  • Evaluates customer operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all functional data relay interfaces
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Assists in developing Operational Products in support of Space based systems
  • Performs analyses for testability, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program
  • Lead development of highly innovative product and solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field
  • Develops information, which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products
  • Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with Poly

  • Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experienceExpertise and ability to support working tasks with limited guidance and supervision
