Description
SAIC is looking for a Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) Data Scientist to serve in the NAE as a Functional Data Scientist at Commander Naval Air Forces, Atlantic (CNAL) with the Maintenance Operations Center/ (MOC) Cell in Norfolk, VA.
The successful candidate will design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot software programs, including desktop applications and computer–based IT systems. The candidate will also design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot databases and programs, correct database, and program errors by modifying programs or altering sequence of program steps, analyze, review, and rewrite databases or programs to improve operating efficiency or to adapt programs to new requirements, including Web hosting of metrics, compile and write documentation for database and program development and subsequent revisions, and train users to use databases or programs. The candidate will additionally compile and write documentation for program development and subsequent revisions.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- BS and 3+ years of experience. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- 3+ years of experience with programming and software development
- 3+ years of experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle, XML, and/or XSLT
- 1 year of experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
- Experience with implementing automated build and deployment pipelines and supporting platforms
- Experience with troubleshooting and supporting enterprise data applications
- Interim Secret with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Desired additional experience include
- Experience developing and supporting Microsoft Access databases, Excel, including VBA, Access Macros, and SQL
- Experience with Naval Aviation databases, including OOMA and DECKPLATE, PsILS, AMSRR, AFAST, ACES, ASM, or SHARP and MSHARP
- Experience with using visualization systems, including Qlik or Tableau
- Experience with supporting the development and maintenance of SharePoint sites
- May require availability outside of normal business hours for staff support
- Experience as a Naval Aviation Maintenance Administrationman (AZ), or in the Naval Aviation Maintenance field such as an Aviation Maintenance Master Chief or Senior Chief Petty Officer or will be a strength
