SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our energized team to support the Department of Air Force’s (DAF) mission to establish and maintain the Advanced Battle Management System’s (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) through the ABMS DI Consortium. ABMS is the Air Force’s latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.

To accomplish the DAF’s mission, the government in partnership with the ABMS DI Consortium will develop a digital infrastructure that connects the joint warfighting force, enables sharing of information across the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Space Force, joint allies, partners and multi-domains and provide decision superiority to tactical, operational and strategic customers. The DI Consortium is comprised of industry leaders in systems engineering, digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, cyber security, integration & test and operations and sustainment working together in a collaborative environment to delivery critical capabilities to our warfighters. This is a Full Time hybrid role. Work will be performed 4 days a week at the Arlington office with 1 day of remote work.

The Systems Engineer will work within the consortium environment to perform the following focused on digital sustainment:

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the sustainment integrated product team
  • Facilitate technical information exchange in support of Consortium Objectives
  • Drive sustainment concepts for advanced systems tagged for rapid capability delivery
  • Define, plan and manage the sustainment of advanced combat communication systems

Apply Systems Engineering principals to digital models and digital thread as it relates to sustainment

Qualifications

 

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • DoD Secret clearance: ability to obtain DoD Top Secret SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree and fourteen (14) years of experience in sustainment, and/or integrated product support, and/or logistics. Masters and twelve (12) years of experience. PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working JADC2 initiatives
  • Experience working on USAF rapid capability programs
  • Experience or Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), Cameo, DOORS
  • Experience or Familiarity with Confluence, JIRA, and Git style repositories
  • Experience with cloud-based digital engineering or software development environments
  • Experience with SW Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (Java, Java Script, C#, C++, Modern Web Frameworks)
