Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support a newly awarded contract with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Support team. Work will be performed on-site in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The Engineerprovides system and software engineering expertise and support in one or more of the following areas:

  • Design, development, test and integration of software systems/applications
  • Coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the development process
  • Interacting with other engineering groups to identify functional and performance requirements for application programs, assess software issues/defects, resolve problems and develop solutions
  • Performing requirements analysis and management
  • Conducting market surveys and assessing new technologies
  • Coordinating with program stakeholders for the successful execution of software development programs; and/or
    • Establishing and maintaining RMF policies and processes
    • Conducting system and software cybersecurity
    • Maintaining the security accreditation for systems and software


Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree and nine (9) years of experience; four (4) years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 

Required Clearance:

  • Must have a Secret Security Clearance to begin employment; must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

  • Nine (9) years of experience in C4ISR related programs, to include:
    • Technology Analysis and Assessment
    • Design Definition
    • Development of Systems Specification
    • Systems Analysis
    • Systems Architecture
    • Systems/Equipment Integration
    • Test & Evaluation Criteria
    • Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.
  • Five (5) years of technical experience in support of network, system architecture, and the interoperability of USMC intelligence system collection and analysis platform, development, testing, and implementation of requirements, specific product and systems.
  • Experience in one or more of the following engineering and technical disciplines is required:
    • Software Engineering and Development
    • System or Software Integration
    • Test and Evaluation • Program Office Liaison Support
    • Engineering and Technical Documentation Development
    • Program of Record Technical Support • Risk Management Framework (RMF)
    • Cybersecurity
  • Common Firmware Environment (CFE) Experience:
    • Linux/RHEL/CentOS, Matlab, Python, Java, RaptorX, Golang, and Kubernetes environment 

Desired Skills:

  • Participating in, preparing for, and conducting program reviews pertaining to Government projects/programs.
  • Providing research and development (R&D) support for the delivery of prototype fielding kits, technical and engineering documentation, and/or technical data packages is preferred.
  • Development of engineering documentation such as Technical Data Packages (TDPs) Tech Manuals (TMs), Trade Studies, Safety Analysis Reports (SARs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Performance Specifications, System Specifications, and Sub-System Specifications (SSS), and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Designing, developing, and documenting software to support a specific government requirement.
  • Providing engineering support for the following software-related activities: Analysis and Requirements, Software Development, Software Integration, Software Testing, Configuration Management, Documentation, Project Management, and Post Deployment Software Support.
  • Establishing and maintaining a cybersecurity program that covers the following: security test and evaluation, security assessment documentation, vulnerability management and reporting, RMF assessment and authorization, continuous monitoring, security engineering requirements, and mitigation strategy and resolution.
