Description

SAIC is seeking a Training Specialist to provide dedicated advisory and assistance services (A&AS) support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate, Nuclear Surety Division. The qualified candidate will organize, coordinate, execute, and provide support for OCONUS nuclear weapon training, education, and exercises. This position is in Kleber Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany.  

Primary duties include:

  • Coordinate and track DTRA facilitated Nuclear Weapon Accident Incident (NWAI) training to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) partner nations and the U.S. interagency community of interest;
  • Organize, coordinate, execute, and support exercise planning meetings, evaluation testing, performance analysis, crisis support training, and emergency response pertaining to nuclear weapon operations to include providing support and administration to working groups, conferences, and pre-/post-meeting support;
  • Update and maintain NWAI response website(s) and share drive(s);
  • Synchronize European NWAI lines of effort with partner nations;
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, execution, and presentation of NWAI response courses;
  • Review, validate, assess, and assist in the development of national and DoD NWAI response policy and procedures;
  • Review international agreements, joint plans, and other documents at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels of command;
  • Validate DoD and interagency policies, plans, and procedures through NWAI exercises; support Department ad hoc tasks within the scope of the contract, as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years or more of related experience;
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in OCONUS NWAI response procedures and exercise planning, execution, and analysis;
  • Proven analytical, exercise planning, and program management skills and expertise;
  • Experience developing and utilizing collaborative tools and techniques to organize administrative, logistical, and operational requirements;
  • Experience producing after action reports;
  • Experience working as a staff operations officer;
  • Ability to collaborate across a diverse workforce to achieve NWAI training/exercise objectives;
  • Experience working in both tactical field environment and DoD staff sections and organizations;
  • Experience operating in international environments and working with NATO partner organizations;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop presentations. and brief senior leaders.

Desired:

  • Understanding of NATO organizations and prior experience with DTRA programs, specifically within the nuclear enterprise.
  • Experience working at an OCONUS nuclear capable force or headquarters component;
  • Experience working with Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons laboratories;
  • Experience developing and maintaining SharePoint sites.
