SAIC is looking for a MBSE Senior Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA.

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) experience - in San Diego, CA who is seeking a challenge and eager to learn and grow supporting our DOD acquisition community. This position assists with the implementation of SE functions and tasks that support various Programs of Record within the Program Executive Office; Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence (PEO C4I) and part of the NAVWAR Team. SAIC encourages all qualified candidates to apply for this rewarding work including those with a background in MBSE. MBSE efforts will be conducted according to the UML, SysML, and the Unified Profile for DoDAF / MODAF (UPDM) modeling standards.

Job duties and responsibilities may include any of the following:

  • Work proficiently on technical problems and provide solutions which are innovative and ingenious while conducting SE activities based on sound engineering practices.
  • Elicit and refine customer requirements that ensures designs fully support requirements and are consistent with customer budget, schedule, risk profile and organizational/system constraints.
  • May perform any of the following SE activities: Concept of Operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecture, analysis and/or design, validation and verification, systems integration, system & operational performance analysis, life-cycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA), functional analysis and requirements allocation for hardware engineering specifications.
  • Assists in the design and development of SysML architecture data models including architecture, operational, and interface diagram development, requirements analysis and requirements verification.
  • Provide information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Demonstrate application of technical principles and concepts and contribute to their development. Ability to recommend/make decisions on project work matters and ensure effective achievement of program, project, and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years related experience. 4 additional years of applicable military experience with IO/ISR systems experience is acceptable in lieu of advanced education.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to operate both independently and without direct supervision and in a collaborative environment
  • Understanding PEO C4I, NAVWAR, US Navy C-ISR systems and CONOPS
  • One or more of the following certifications: OSCSMP, DAWIA, PMP, INCOSE, Agile/DevOps/SecDevOps
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements development/validation and concept of operations formulation
  • Magic Draw or other System Architecture Visualization Tools
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCI

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • Prior Military (Navy) experience
  • DOORS or other requirements management tool
