SAIC is seeking a Test and Evaluation Senior Engineer to support the United States Air Force in its goal of developing an interoperable system of system in a cloud-based command and control (CBC2) environment.  The Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS CBC2) goals include achieving alignment with the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) vision of improved information sharing, layered security, common data and architecture standards, system resiliency, faster implementation, and more effective cross-domain capabilities, including the ability for any sensor to inform any shooter across all domains. The position requires an individual with strong technical project management skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, team skills and DoD Program Management experience. They will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short deadlines and rapidly evolving customer needs.

The Test and Evaluation Engineer works with the test time, and helps organize and control the discipline of testing and how to effectively implement a testing process. They ensure that the test infrastructure supports robust communication and cost effective testing and evaluation frameworks.

Responsibilities include assisting the Test and Evaluation Manager with:

  • Creating the Test Plan
  • Defining and implementing the role testing plays within the organization
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each MVP/MVCR
  • Deploying and managing the appropriate testing framework to meet the testing requirements
  • Implementing and evolving appropriate measurements and metrics
  • Planning, deploying, and managing the testing effort for any given engagement/release and the facilitator

Additional duties include: Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Provides input into the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. The testing team is responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree plus 14+ years’ experience as a test engineer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
  • Experience in working with Model Based Systems Engineering tools and requirements databases
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefing
  • U.S. Citizenship

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Running test validations at various levels including DB validation, logging validation, and UI validation
  • Ability to write test documentation - Test Plans; Test Procedures; Change Requests; System Requirements Documents; Problem Reports, Discrepancy Reports
  • Experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases
  • Familiarity with Information Security best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentations of work performed 
  • Solid experience Agile Scrum approach
  • Active Secret Clearance
