SAIC’s Advanced Technical Exploitation team provides state of the art technical exploitation and collection capabilities in digital media exploitation triage and automation, advanced technical Media Exploitation (MEDEX), and advanced Mobile Device Exploitation. Activities include digital forensics activities, software reverse engineering, hardware exploitation, parser development, reverse engineering, mobile applications development and engineering, and technical exploitation.

The Advanced Technical Exploitation team offers highly-challenging and rewarding positions with significant impact on national security and the opportunity for rapid upward mobility in the areas of computer forensics/mobile device forensics; data recovery; reverse engineering; hardware engineering; digital forensic analysis; and digital and analog electronics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to (candidates must have significant experience in several of the following fields):

  • Reverse engineer mobile software applications to identify and understand significant forensic artifacts.
  • Understand the internals of iOS and Android application binaries
  • Utilize modern reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Radare2, Hopper, and JADX
  • Reverse engineer iOS applications built using Objective C and Swift programming
  • Understand reverse engineering and how its defense techniques are used in mobile applications
  • Reverse Engineer Mobile OS Kernels, Capture device ROMs, and patch them to bypass security protocols
  • Understand how to utilize ADB Bridge, and Android Studio to drive data extraction efforts
  • Write reports documenting the forensic value, and the steps taken to develop a capability for exploitation

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with CI Poly is required to perform services on the contract. Candidates with an active security clearance at the TS/SCI level are required to pass a counter intelligence polygraph.
  • Eight (8) years of full-time technical exploitation experience in digital forensics; OR
  • BS degree in Digital Forensics or Computer Science may substitute (2) years of minimum experience; OR
  • MS in Digital Forensics or Computer Science may substitute three  (3) years of minimum experience;
  • Two (2) or more years of digital forensics/reverse engineering experience, including computer forensic software packages such as EnCase, FTK, or Sleuth Kit/Autopsy
  • Two (2) or more years of experience coding in Python, C, C++, C#/.NET, Java, and/or Kotlin
  • Strong organizational, communications, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Digital forensics certifications including (but not limited to): EnCE, MCFE,CCME, CCFE,GCFA,GCFE GASF, CCE, or GREM
  • Contractor personnel are required to complete and pass a written test, prior to beginning work on the contract if they have not performed customer requirements previously

Desired: 

  • Highly Desired: Digital Forensics training or Certification from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) or ICE/HSI BCERT, or Treasury equivalent

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
