Description

SAIC has a contingent position available for motivated and experienced individual to work as Test Engineer Principal, assisting the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology's projects. This Engineer will provide program support and technical expertise to ensure timely delivery of high-quality test events and products as specified in the SOW. The Test Engineer will provide mission and requirement analysis to support technical and operational test plan development, execution, data analysis, and reporting of test events. The successful candidate can provide experience in applying metrics to the analysis or assessment of a capability, as well as provide engineering expertise in the application of mission threads and mission thread analyses to assess DHS operational gaps, capabilities, and technology solutions through test and assessments. Provide milestone updates for the master program schedule and track milestones related to test and evaluation events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree plus 5 years Experience, or Masters plus 3 years experience.
  • Must have active TS clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
  • Due to clearance, citizenship is required.
  • Must be responsible, reliable, accountable, and able to work independently and within a team structure.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines and produce quality results with attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform statistical analysis of aggregate data.
  • Ability to track, analyze, and compile data and metrics to identify trends, monitor performance and produce appropriate reports.
  • Ability to develop concise, organized, well-written reports. Must have computer skills and know how to perform tasks utilizing Microsoft Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and/or MS Access.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Local to Norfolk, VA.
  • Highly Desired:  CBP Suitability, Previous experience with DHS S&T.
  • DAWIA Test and Evaluation Level III Certified: Has an active DAWIA Test and Evaluation Level III certification from Defense Acquisition University (DAU).

Target salary range: $125,001 - $135,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
