Description

SAIC is seeking a project manager to ensure the effective execution of civil engineering and construction activities related to the ground segment of a major space program. The efforts are focused on development and integration of support structures for ground terminals, associated power substations, and infrastructure support. The project manager will coordinate will all stakeholders involved in the construction.

The position will be located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Travel is expected to construction sites.

 Job Duties Include:

  • Performing equipment audits and inspecting shipments to ensure their arrive to site conforms to the approved schedule and facilities processes
  • Participate in developer design reviews to ensure the developers plans meet customer requirements
  • Witnessing construction and integration activities to ensure they fulfill stated functionality and requirements
  • Ensure construction site inspections are satisfactorily completed
  • Assess project risks in terms of costs, schedule, and materials
  • Provide the customer with periodic summary reports to effectively track schedule and costs with contract requirements
  • Provide the customer inputs for contract performance evaluation defined in the developer’s contract

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and seven (7) years or more experience; Masters and five (5) years or more experience; PhD and two (2) years or more related experience.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) or building constuction codes
  • Experience with design layout, conduit, and grounding
  • Experience with site, structural, and foundation design, and construction inspections
  • Experience with activities involving hardware and software integration
  • Experience in full life cycle support with a major DoD acquisition program office
  • Experience with ground segment of space program office
  • Experience evaluating proposals, budgets, and master schedules
