Job Description


SAIC is currently looking for a dynamic, organized and well-spoken Director of Environmental, Social and Governance Strategy and Execution.  This position will be responsible for the development, integration, oversight and implementation of the company’s sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, governance) strategies.  The position requires extensive engagement with senior leaders across SAIC as we work together to develop and implement our strategy for ESG and the integration with our initiatives in inclusion, equity and diversity (DEI).  The successful candidate will have deep insights regarding third party reporting guidance, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting and Standards Board (SASB), Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), CDP  (Carbon Disclosure Project – Climate, Supply Chain and Forestry), SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange), ESG Rating Agencies including MSCI, ISS and Sustainalytics, as well as global frameworks standards such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).  An understanding of the evolving Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) governance on ESG reporting requirements is preferred but not required.  This position will report directly to the VP for ESG Integration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing ESG initiatives, including thought leadership strategies, that advance the company’s objectives and support evolving disclosure requirements
  • Directing and managing the development, production and distribution of all ESG communications materials, including disclosures, internal materials, messaging, talking points and more
  • Building and maintaining relationships with organizations that are meaningful and relevant, serving as third parties on the forefront of global efforts, ensuring the company is included on the right lists and that appropriate surveys are timely completed and submitted.
  • Collaborating with internal business partners and communications colleagues to amplify efforts and firmly establish the company as an ESG leader in our industry
  • Providing insightful, informed and strategic communications counsel to business leaders
  • Managing multiple work streams and projects simultaneously employing judgement and expertise when providing communications guidance and materials to support the company’s efforts.



  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field of corporate sustainability, public policy and/or corporate governance.  This can include experience with investor relations.
  • An undergraduate degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Communications or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to research complex topics, governance guidance, federal rulings and disclosure statements/requirements
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, able to convey complicated topics to senior leaders both internal and external to the company.
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple simultaneous work streams across a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Must be a US Citizen.


  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a communications professional in a corporate environment including at least 8 years of communications management experience.
  • An advanced degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Communication or a related field.
  • Experience developing, implementing and reporting on corporate strategies around sustainability and/or Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
