Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to join and support our team in North Charleston, SC or Stafford, VA.

Note: this position is hybrid remote, onsite meetings will require an in-person presence on an as-needed basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Configuration Analyst SR will support the Configuration Management (CM) process in support of Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) projects.
  • Document and track all aspects of hardware and/or software acquisition and deployment.
  • Identify and maintain inventory of items under configuration control.
  • Ensure configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations.
  • Review all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures.
  • Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintain records and submit reports regarding status.
  • Prepare configuration verification audit record sheets for all projects.
  • Provide support in the maintenance of updates to the Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) process.
  • Develop, document, execute, and implement mainstream government CM principles and change control mechanisms.
  • Conduct periodic Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs).
  • Create and manage process documentation in SharePoint.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years or more of related experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with DoD Installation Guides, Process Manuals, and Technical Design Packages.
  • Experience with Remedy, databases, and SharePoint applications.
  • Strong analytical and collaborative skills.
  • Experience with CM documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications relating to electronic systems and interfaces.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Active clearances accepted.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
  • ANSI/EIA-649B Principles and Applications, CMPIC.
  • Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development.
  • Experience writing CM documentation in compliance with the DoD standards.
