SAIC is seeking a Senior Communication Network Engineer to join and support our team in North Charleston, SC or in Stafford, Virginia.

Note: this position is hybrid remote, onsite meetings will require an in-person presence on an as-needed basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks and network components supporting data, voice, and/or communication activities.
  • Prepare the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling.
  • Conduct Verification Site Surveys (VSS).
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections.
  • Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
  • Evaluate new and upcoming technology.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provide information for hardware and software selection.
  • Provide tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting testing of new and existing network systems.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively both written and orally, have the ability to convey technical material to a non-technical audience, be a detail oriented, well organized, self-starter, able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and capable of performing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to interface with program stakeholders and team members at all levels.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) years or more of related experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network services, Cisco AS or high-level support, or large-scale Network Design experience.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in network architecture and engineering.
  • Understanding of VoIP, SIP, IMS, and standards like VoLTE.
  • Understanding of Telecommunication Facilities and supporting internal Auxiliary Infrastructure.
  • Development, planning, and execution of test, validation and cutover methodologies.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MS Visio, and MS Office Suite.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Active clearances accepted.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

  • CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP certified.
  • Security+ or CISSP certified.
  • Unified Communication Requirement UCR.
  • Experience in Wireless and MPLS is a plus.
  • Experience supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), the United States Marine Corps (USMC), the United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), or other Government Agency supporting Network Modernization.
  • Experience in the telecommunication field to include knowledge of the installation, service and maintenance of telephone, network, and related telecommunications infrastructure.

Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
